While being at MassArt I have had the absolute pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, faculty + students alike.
One of the most genuine, sweetest, and overall incredible human I’ve met is Dyan, the paper making teacher in Studio Foundation. I knew I wanted to work with her from the get go when I had her my freshmen year.
She possesses this amazing wit + energy that gave a whole new life, direction, and dimension to my pieces. These are just a couple photographs from a shoot I did with her and my wonderful friend Alex, who took some great pictures of Dyan and very beautiful detail shots.
I love the idea of collaborating with an older woman in my work. Younger models are great and beautiful yes, but there is a certain level of presence that Dyan gave off, this sense of knowing, grace, charm, imagination and wonder, that it gets me excited about the future of my work, and the idea of working outside of the model barrier.
Fashion is timeless.
